Father Shamus O’Randall keeps his face partially hidden, not because he is ugly but because religion is ugly. He regards all religion with a skeptical eye and lampoons the pretenses of the pious wherever he perceives them. He’s known as the “Paranoid Priest,” not because he minds the vengeance of God, but only the belligerence of his believers. IRL, he is a character actor with a background of 50 years in terrestrial radio, voice-over and audio-book narration – but his natural intelligence will soon be replaced by AI.
